they told you their history, about how close their bones are to their skin
she learned to be ashamed of the body she was in
from a big world that decided beauty’s only in the eye of the thin
so it’s binge and purge, stomach acid burns
she sings perfectly in tune, but no one understands her words
she said “build me a castle”, so i went to work
and ignored the problem in the almighty name of her
I’ve been here before, happens every time
I stay so focused on the light i want to go blind
as time slipped by, didn’t realize
she was disappearing into thin air right in front of my eyes
they used to say to me

i’m up to a pack and a half a day
i sleep by myself, cause there’s no one else here
